"I also live in Texas a little further south in San Antonio. I was wondering how you manage twist out styles with this uncontrollable moisture???? I leave home with a lovely twist out...but by the time I get to my destination....its just a puff?? help!!!! do you have any suggestions??"
If I know one thing, I now that Texas weather is no joke. When the summer hits, and that humidity is at its highest, there is nothing that can stop the destruction soon to follow. Humidity happens to the best of us, but there are some ways to combat the moisture in the air.

NaturallyCurly.com has a list of products that help combat humidity. A few of these items include:
  • Kinky Curly Curling Custard
  • Curl Junkie Curls in a Bottle
  • Deva Curl Set Me Up
A list of of all ten products can be found here. The goal with these styling products is not to use them a curl definers, but rather in like the form of a serum. It will help prevent the moisture from getting in and puff your styles into a hot frizzy mess!!!!
Styling options? I’d say keep it simple. Low maintenance, wash n gos and productive styles work best in humid weather. If you would like to wear an out style (twist out, braid out, bantu knot out) take a look at the products from the list above to help your hair keep its shape. I tend to use more silicon-based products during the summer as well as gels like Eco-Styler. I've found that these really help to hold my twistouts/braidouts way longer.
I would also advise to keep your twists/braids in longer in order to really get a good set of the style.
Hope this helps
